This is my first day blogging and I think I'll just keep you up-to-date on the comings and goings on the farm.
Jack and Hattie (the grandkids) spent the nite and Jack locked himself and Hattie in their bedroom on the 2nd floor this morning. It's a deadbolt, so no fiddling with it would unlock it. Grandper Sam was bringing the cows up from the pasture for milking when a very frantic Grandmer called him to help rescue the kids who were crying. Thanks goodness the windows were unlocked. He got a ladder and came in through the window to unlock the door. Jack was sure suprised to see Grandper coming in through the window! Kind of like a summertime Santa sans toys.
Chores finally got done and Sam has headed to the field. We planted oats this week, but still have corn and sorghum to get planted. Our neighbor "Bub" has been helping out and he went to chisel plow some corn ground. I ran to our butcher and picked up some goat meat for my brother.
Tonite I'll be attending a wedding at the Turning Stone Casino in Vernon, NY. I can't wait to see it, I hear it's gorgeous.       Grandmer Nancy
